The Albany Jazz Little Big Band has the heart and soul and sound of an honest-to-goodness “big band.” Made up of 10 semi-pro and professional musicians and 3 vocalists, they produce a richly harmonized, eclectic mix of danceable and listenable jazz.
The Little Big Band was formed in response to the pandemic and since has performed at several Albany and Piedmont City-sponsored festivals. The band performs a range of genres from bossa nova to blues, pop, funk, and jazz, spanning traditional, bebop and contemporary styles and is led by conductor Bob Levenson. The featured vocalists are Kate Geraghty, Sharon Vaughn, and co-leader Richard Kalman.
